Bring the glamorous and fun loving Jazz Age to life in your home with Barziban’s Art Deco Designs.
Savour the exotic costume creations of a host of designers including Dolly Tree, Zig and Jean Le Seyeux that graced the Folies Bergere and the Casino de Paris in Paris and other European capitals during the 1920s.
Enjoy the beautiful photographs of the gorgeous stars of the French Music hall including Josephine Baker, Mistinguett, the Guy Sisters and the delectable Dolly Sisters.
Admire the colourful and clever artwork for programs, postcards and adverts by leading 20s artists such as Louis Curti, Dolly Tree, Zig and Gesmar.
Marvel at the sensual images of a host of scantily clad showgirls from the mind blowing 20s revues and cabarets.
‘My life long interest in art deco and the 1920s in RL has precipitated a web site (on the artist Dolly Tree) several book projects (including The Delectable Dollies about the Dolly Sisters) and has influenced and stimulated me artistically. My research into the Jazz Age has resulted in the acquisition of a vast array of memorabilia from a variety of sources all from the French music hall, British stage and British, French and American cabaret.
Subsequently, my SL business – Barziban’s Art Deco Designs – will create artifacts with an art deco theme. My first collection will be a series of framed pictures featuring costume designs, programme covers, colour plates and some black & white photographs from the 1920s, all from my extensive collection in RL.’
‘When I arrived in SL I looked for art deco inspired artefacts to have in my home but I found there was no-one really specialising in this niche area. The artwork that was being sold was largely non-copyright free (such as images by Erte) and mostly rather uninspiring so I decided to utilise my own collection of copyright free material in RL.’
I hope you like my first collection.
